Customising T-shirts and other items, even from a single unit, requires a range of specific and often complex printing techniques. These are quite different from the traditional large runs of hundreds or thousands of units.

For productions starting from just one item, there isn't one single optimal technique that covers all types of designs and T-shirts. Here at laTostadora, we've specialised in:

Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing for cotton T-shirts.

The DTF printing technique for sports T-shirts and sweatshirts.

Direct-to-Garment (DTG) Printing

Direct printing is one of the latest technologies developed for customisation and for print runs starting from just one unit. It offers a quality and finish comparable to screen printing (sometimes even better!), but from a single item (with screen printing, you typically need a minimum of 30 units to get an acceptable cost per T-shirt).

Using this technique, we print all user-uploaded designs in .PNG or .JPG format onto cotton T-shirts. We can print solid colours, designs with hundreds of colours and gradients, as well as text, and so on. In short: anything contained within a .PNG or .JPG file.

Advantages:

  • Supports 16 million colours.
  • Screen print quality from just 1 unit.
  • Ideal for designs with multiple strokes, distressed effects, irregular lines, etc.

Disadvantages:

  • High printing costs for long runs.
  • May not last quite as long as traditional screen printing.
  • May show slight imperfections, especially on solid/flat colours.

Washing Instructions:

  • Wash the T-shirt inside out.
  • Wash with cold water. In any case, we don't recommend washing above 30°C.
  • Do not use bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry after washing (tumble dryers ruin everything, including the fabric).
  • Do not iron directly over the print.
